According to the AML/CFT legislation, your identity must be verified in order for customer due diligence to be completed. There are two ways for us to verify your identity.

This can be done using an electronic verification, or by certified documents.

The legislation requires your name, date of birth and address to be verified, along with an online screening to confirm if you are a politically exposed person.

Electronic Verification

To verify your identity, we require the following information;

  1. A photo of the back and front of your driver's license or your passport

  2. A photo of yourself holding your ID (as per the photo below)

  3. Your residential address

  4. Your consent for us to electronically verify your information

OR Certified Documents

If you would like to provide certified documents, please confirm with the analyst that the documents are within the acceptable timeframe, and if there are any specific requirements you need to be aware of. We will require a copy of the following;

  1. A certified copy of your passport

  2. A certified copy of your address document

These will preferably be emailed to the Analyst assigned to case, but you can also send these through the post to PO Box 56190, Dominion Road, Auckland 1446.

Please see our certification guidelines below.

OR Alternative options if you do not have a passport to verify or certify

If you are unable to provide a certified passport, the below ID's are acceptable alternatives;

  • Certified National ID card

  • Certified Certificate of Identity

  • Certified Firearms License

Or alternatively, if you prefer, we can accept a certified copy of your driver's license (front and back), along with one of the following supporting documents, certified;

  • Recent bank statement (no more than 3 months old)

  • Birth certificate

  • A copy of the front and back of your bank card (please black out the CVV numbers on the back)

Acceptable address documents are either;

  1. Bank statement dated within the last 12 months, addressed to your residential address, or

  2. A utility bill dated within the last 12 months, addressed to your residential address (e.g. power, water, rates)
